Your Guiding Light to Foundational Leadership: Nurturing Values and Standards

In life's chaos, we often lose sight of our guiding force, but by nurturing our values, aligning them with our true selves, and embodying them fully, we can reclaim purpose and fulfillment

As humans, we are born with an innate guiding force that helps us navigate through life. This guiding force is what helps us align with our true selves, and it is what gives us direction and purpose. However, as we go through life, we tend to get caught up in the fast pace of our environments, and we lose touch with our inner selves. We start to go down the wrong path, and we end up feeling lost and confused.

When we find ourselves in this state, we often turn to quick fixes that are social norms, hoping that they will relieve our pain and suffering. We may start drinking, smoking, or engaging in other self-destructive behaviors that only make things worse. We become shells of our true selves, and we lose sight of what truly matters.

The problem is that we have never really taken the time to nurture and strengthen our inner guiding force. We have never really listened to it, and we have never really understood what it is trying to tell us. We have never really taken the time to identify our values and standards, and we have never really understood how they can help us initiate change in our lives.

Values are fundamental beliefs that guide our actions. They are the principles that we hold dear, and they are what give us direction and purpose. The problem is that many of us don’t really know our values, let alone live by them. We use the word “values” loosely, without really understanding what it means. Standards are the things that we always require of ourselves. They are what help us stay consistent and accountable to ourselves. We need to establish, understand, and adhere to our standards if we want to thrive as individuals. Without them, we will digress into behaviors that do not serve us.

To assess our current lives and understand why we may be engaging in self-destructive behavior, we need to ask ourselves questions such as “does this behavior have a standard or a value behind it?” and “Is this behavior consistent with my values and standards?” We need to identify the values and standards that need to be installed in our lives, and we need to make a conscious effort to live by them.

Furthermore, we need to ensure that our values and standards are aligned with the values and standards of the leader we need to become. We need to use the values and standards of true leaders from the past and present to help us create our own values and standards. We need to embody these values and standards, not just in one environment, but in all aspects of our lives.

In short, we all have an inner guiding force that we need to nurture and strengthen. We need to identify our values and standards and make a conscious effort to live by them. We need to align our values and standards with the leader we need to become, and we need to embody these values and standards in all aspects of our lives. By doing so, we can live a fulfilling and purposeful life that is true to ourselves.
